Mosquitoes

Mosquitoes are the major vector for viruses, parasitic protozoa and filarial worms which causes diseases such as malaria, dengue, Chikungunya, West Nile fever, Japanese encephalitis or lymphatic filariasis in humans. Mosquitoes have four different life stages: egg, larva, pupa and adult. Mosquito’s immature and adult stages are passed into two completely different environments. The immature stages (i.e., egg, larva and pupa) are aquatic environment and adults are terrestrial one. The adult female lays eggs in contained water, artificial or natural stagnant water. Female mosquitoes required blood meal for their egg development.
